Peru’s Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation, José Manuel Hernández, has announced reflorestamento peruthat by 2020 the National Forestry and Wildlife Service, with the support of other bodies in the Ministry such as Agrorural and INIA (National Institute of Agricultural Innovation, in free translation) aims to reforest 3,2 million hectares of degraded land.

The Minister said reforestation is essential for the government’s agrarian policy.

Several initial programs are already underway in Amazonas, Apurímac, San Martín and Piura. Forest plantations are also being placed in degraded areas such as Áncash, Huánuco, Junín, Pasco and Ucayal.
